Adela is an exclusive women’s health subscription experience dedicated to catering to the entire body, mind, and spirit by carefully selecting pieces that look beautiful and feel even better. Established in Bar Harbor, Maine, the brand embodies northeast elegance and strength. Offering a quarterly themed box in rhythm with the seasons, Adela provides timeless and lasting athletic wear and gear that centers around a seasonal activity.
The purpose of Adela is to empower and elevate middle-aged women through every step of the subscription box experience. From the materials used, fit of clothing, durability, website, ordering method, to the moment of unboxing, grace and quiet vitality are infused to inspire confidence and strength. Established and classic, the name “Adela”, meaning “noble” in Italian, is taken from the CEO’s own middle name that had been passed down to her.
The solution is a brand identity that embodies both strength and boldness alongside grace and a timeless elegance. Drawing from a limited color palette and set of marks, the experience of Adela is felt in every small detail. Expanding the brand further, a collection of illustrations is used to pay homage to Bar Harbor, where Adela is established. Combined with the other elements, they offer various patterns and wordmark alternatives. Adela encourages resilient grace, reminding women to operate with confident elegance.
